How to customise a blogger blog

Once you upload the blogger template then your blog doesn’t look like a professional blog so for creating a professional blog in blogger you need to customize blogger layout and make it best. So that visitors will love your interface and features. Thorugh professional blogging you can engage your customer on your website for a longer period of time. Here I am going to explain how to edit blogger layout and create a professional blog easily step by step.

From my previous post, I hope you are able to create a blog and selected the best template of your choice, So Now after installing the template, you have to customize blog layout for a professional look. So today I am going to discuss how to customize google blogger:

Blogger Customization:

Blogger provides you the facility to customize its settings, codes, design & add third-party codes inside it. For Customizing you need to enter to blogger dashboard. Once you log in and enter to dashboard you will see this kind of interface:

Here on the left side, you can see the main options of different features of blogger.

Post: Here you can go and create a new post, write new content about any topic. You can rewrite or edit the written content. You can create an unlimited number of post here.

Stats: This section helps you to understand the website behavior, gives you information about website views, most popular post, and traffic audience statistics.

Comments: It will provide you the list of comment on the post of your blog, You can approve, disapprove or mark it spam.

Earnings: This option will help you to apply for adsense and display the status of adsense.

Campaigns: It will help you to promote your blog through AdWords – PPC Campaign to google network.

Pages: This section helps you to create and customize your homepage or any other pages, In blogger, you can only create 10 pages. Its limited however you can create an unlimited number of post.

Layout: In above image, you can see, I opened Layout page, Here you can edit the homepage settings and widgets. You can also customize favicon, logo, title, description and many things.

Theme: Here you can upload new blogger templates or If you want to change the settings or features. You can edit the HTML code and do that.

Setting: This section helps you to change the blog settings related to post, pages, SEO features, user access and much more.

I hope this overview helps you to customize the blog. Now I am going to explain how you can do changes in blogger template for better layout.

How to Add a Widget to Blogger:

Now I am going to add some widgets & customize in blogger for creating a professional blog in blogger.

How to change blogger favicon icon:

Favicon icon display in the top of the website, Its more on an image like a trademark or logo. You can add favicon icon to your blog from layout section. From Dashboard go to layout and in the top, you will see the option of favicon (Check Above Image). Click on edit, then it will ask you to upload the favicon icon. Here you need to have a square-shaped image with less than 100KB size, create image and upload, You Are Done. Watch attached below video tutorial to do parallelly.

How to change the menu in blogger:

You can change the menu from layout If your template is giving the option. You will see the option of a menu when you click on layout. If it is there click on edit and change the menu options. Select the items from the top and add into a menu.

If it’s not available there, then you can change by changing its HTML code. For this, you have to go to layout and click on edit HTML. It will show you a box contained a huge number of codes. Open your blog in the new tab and check its menu items and copy anyone menu item. Go to HTML editor and click “ctrl+f“, It will open a find box, paste the copied menu item here and click on search. Then it will show you, where your menu is located in code.

Example: I used “About Us” to search on my blog editor.

Here li is called list elements and a href is called link tag, to create link in html we use this tag as: <a href=”link-of-landing-page”> Link Name <a/>. So inside the “link-of-landing-page” you need to enter on clicking to that menu where you want your visitor to land and between the tags or In place of Link Name you have to enter the menu name. Add Social Sharing Options Or Widgets in Blogger:

To add social sharing like facebook like box, you need to have a code from Facebook, go to facebook developer and create a like box, It will give you code. Copy the code and go to blogger layout & click on add a widget where you want to add facebook like box. It will show a popup box, here select html/JavaScript and paste the code then click on save. How To add Contact Form in blogger:

Log in to blogger account and go to layout and decide where you want to add a contact form. In the column click to add a widget and then find a contact form in the Basic section, If it’s not there find on More Widgets Section, Mostly probably it will be available here. Click on the + button to add the contact form to blogger. Give the title to your contact form and click on save. Watch attached below video tutorial to do parallel.

How to add email subscription to blogger:

Like you added a contact form, in the same way, you can add subscribe button to your blog. Click on add a widget and select email subscription form then give the title and click on save. You are done, Watch attached below video tutorial to do parallelly.
